[It's almost hard to believe, and Basil knows that his own imagination can be overactive sometimes. Probably not as overactive as Sunny's was, but still. To think, a whole world made out of candies and fruits...but it's not like he doesn't have proof right here, wiggling about excitedly in his arms, right?

Basil blinks, moving over to where Pure Vanilla ended up so he can look for himself...and when he sees what looks like a closed eye on the flower?

He gasps, and it's actually a startled exclamation initially.]

W-wait, these plants...are they...are they like Nymphs? They're not sentient, are they?

[The gasp makes Pure Vanillas ears twist up for a moment in startlement, before he realizes why. Oh. He offers a little smile as he tries to figure out how to explain this.]

No, not quite. They do not think for themselves, or make decisions based on informed ideas. They may react to stimuli such as certain plants do - I have heard tale of plants that close to touch - and may have their own defense mechanisms as trees do with sap or flowers with thorns, but they are simply plants.

[Except for his staff, but that is a symbiotic relationship born of a lot of decisions.

Lavender decides he's tired of being held and begins to squirm to be let down, gumming Basils fingers gently as he does.]

[Oh cute...Basil will very gently set him down onto the floor once the signal has been given, taking a moment to dust the sugar off his hands and onto his overalls. They're like, in constant need of washing anyway, so it's fine.]

There are some, like Venus Fly Traps...I've really never seen anything like these, though. They're amazing...

[Basil can really get a good look at them now that he's put Lavender on the floor, and though he's tempted to dig up one of the Jellyragora, he's afraid he might damage it without his proper tools. He'll have to examine it later, when he's taken them back home.]

O-oh, um! I brought you a flower, too....I've been growing some daisies, and these ones I have are a really bright white and yellow, so...they reminded me of you.

Venus Fly Traps?

[He's trying very hard to picture this plant, given what he knows of flies (which is not much, they are tiny and buzzy?) and all he can imagine is a plant shaped like a little snare. How adorable!

Lavender takes off once he's down to go find a toy to brutally chew on with a sudden crescendo of squeakies, Pure Vanilla casting a smile in the direction he hears them coming from, before back to Basil, oh!ing that he got him a daisy.]

[Moving around, Pure Vanilla finds a small pot and his tools. Carrying them over to the bigger pot, he scoops some soil in, then gestures Basil over as he oh-so-carefully uproots a jellyragora. It's a tiny little tube like plant... in the shape of a little guy! Almost. It looks like it has legs and tiny arms, and a tiny little face that seems fast asleep. Pure Vanilla will let Basil get a good look, before carefully replanting it. Then another so it has a friend.]

They're quite unique back home. When they are fully grown, their defense mechanisms is to scream and run. It is merely magic, however, do not worry about them being sentient. There have been thorough studies on them. If they scream and run, however, it means they're too mature and it's best just to let them replant themselves. If you attempt to use them for their anesthetic or pain relieving properties then, you might end up asleep for quite a while. Here I am simply hoping they retain some of their anesthetic properties, for changes.

Mmhm! They're actually a carnivorous plant...they can catch bugs, since they have a reflex that causes them to close their leaves around anything that touches them. That's why they're called fly traps.

[A little morbid, perhaps, but fascinating to Basil, who loves plants so much...just as fascinating as what he sees next, because holy shit? The fact that Pure Vanilla just...casually plucks a little guy from the soil is actually a little startling, but it's no weirder than some of the other stuff he's seen here. He watches as it's replanted, followed by a second one.]

I can study them as they grow...I'll let you know what I learn about them, if there's anything new. Hopefully they'll be mostly the same here! Right...right down to the screaming, I g-guess...if that's normal for them.

[Basil can't blame them though, his defense mechanism is to also scream and run.]

[Ah that changes his mental image. Little mouths? Why not, his world has eyeball plants. They're really sort of cute in his mental image! And he laughs a little to the idea of these little guys screaming, shaking his head.]

Do not worry about them doing that. I should surmise that they have been depowered here, much as we all have upon our entrance. I assume they will simply be like tubers here, if with a slightly jelly consistency once you have cut into them. Quite like an aloe plant, I believe?

[He had the luxury of getting to feel one.]

I am hoping their anesthetic properties remain, if not as powerful, for a natural pain relief is far better than manufactured. When they reach about... so big [He uses his hands together to approximate their size] replant them in separate pots, but do make sure they don't receive too much water, or they will gorge on it...

[Or do, and behold a very fat jellyragora...]

[Oh thank god, he's pretty sure if one of these plants screamed at him, Basil would just scream back.]

[He.......isn't sure how easy it's going to be for him to cut into a plant with a face though, uh]

I think they should...it wouldn't make sense for everything about them to be taken away. Plants don't have to be magical to have medicinal properties.

[Also hey, what if he WANTS a very fat jellyragora, you don't know.

After Basil has looked over the new plants, he steps back a little so he can look at the rest of the room. He's only just now seeing Pure Vanilla's new setup for the first time, after all.]
