[Ah. So he does know...that's better than if he didn't, Basil thinks. Even if he knows that Vash must feel as terrible as he did when he first arrived.]

I'm okay. I'm back home now.

[It's weird. Basil had been keeping a nocturnal schedule- and likely still will- but now...he doesn't have to worry about the sun. He can go out in it, and it hasn't fully sunk in yet that he'll be able to yet. Yet, right now? He wants nothing more than to stay at the mansion.]

I'm sure a lot of people have told you about...most of what goes on here, but. If there's anything else you don't know about, I can try to help.

[There are plenty of thoughts that Vash has about the whole thing but... ultimately, they don't matter. He'll find a way out of this. He has to, because he promised Robin as much too.]

[I'm not, Basil's brain immediately supplies, without prompting.

He doesn't say that, of course.

He wishes it were possible to take it easy, here. But it's just not. Especially not for him, not with things as complicated as they are now. But Vash...is still new. He doesn't have to face the horrors, not yet.

He deserves just that little bit of time to prepare.]

[He can't know what's going through Basil's head. He can't know what he's done in the past, both in this world and back home. But he likes to think he's always been a good judge of character. He wants to believe that he's not wrong about this, either.
