[There's a weighty silence that shrouds the space between them both, now that two of the three boys are dead and dying. The third could be screaming, crying, cursing them both...but he's just lucky to still be alive, and seems wise enough to hold his breath while Basil has him ensnared in his vines again. If he didn't, he'd have been cooked alive just like the other two, and he knows that.
But if he did start crying, Basil wouldn't blame him.
He can't keep looking. He has to turn his face away from the bodies, even the boy who is still alive but barely. It feels cruel to leave him there as he gasps his last, but what could they do? He would die on the way to a clinic, and even then...most other monsters would likely find it a waste. Waste not...
Right now, he tries to keep his focus on Max, who seems to have finally regained her senses, if only briefly. He knows that it's not going to be for long, not until she's actually fed.]
